Windward Opens with a Bang

Some 80 players, beginners and curious spectators came out to Windward Lake Club in Alpharetta, GA for a terrific grand opening event.  With 10X national platform champion Sue Aery teaching and playing, the club members and locals were treated to a great day of fun, food paddle.  Dave Power, owner, general manager and dogged champion of getting the new 2 court paddle venue built remarked that the day exceeded his expectations and made all the hard work from planning through construction worthwhile.  The enthusiasm of the gathered crowd was noticeably high, some of whom already know and love paddle, others simply fascinated. 

Rob & Didi Chapdelaine were in their element (7th heaven) over the realization of their dream to put paddle courts in at Windward where they live.  All predict the progam will be a smaching success with room for 2 more courts and a hut.  Thanks go to some many other people including Amy Riley who organized the event, our exhibition players:  Agata Cioroch, Lisa Teer, Sharon LeRoux, Sue Aery, Jay Bailey, Graham McNerney (who also taught), Scott Kaufman and Peter Lauer.  

And special thanks to the Board & Members of the American Platform Tennis Association (APTA), who's generous grant through their Growth Committee helped make this day possible.

Windward Lake Courts - Nearly Complete // Opening Event Dec 15th

The news is all GREAT out at Windward Lake Club in Alpharetta - 2 new court venue will be ready this week for the grand opening clinic & exhibition on Sat Dec 15th, 2012 - David Dodge of Total Platform has been in town with his crew building the new courts for Dave Powers and team at Windward - should be a great addition to an already delightfully successful tennis club.  According to Dave, they have room for 2 more!!!
