Local Boy Makes Good!

Local Atlanta paddle phenom Graham McNerney, pictured here in between last year's #2 nationally ranked team of Lennart Jonason (l) & Juan Arraya (r), competed with his Dad Rick McNerney at the Patterson Open in Fairfield, CT this past weekend.  Though they lost the match 6-3, 6-2, it was a heck of a battle according to the victors, and a total shock / surprise that an unseeded, unheard of team from Atlanta could show so well.

Said Rick, a long time competitive player himself, of his son's performance "it was amazing to watch Graham in action...Graham played all summer long, and this will be his 4th season playing having gotten his start in the PPL...The sport's been a life changer of sorts for Graham, who plays constantly, commutes back from UGA for matches, and has watched every instructional video out there...I couldn't be more proud of his passion and talent".

We think the future's bright for Graham on the National stage with a whole series of tournaments and partners lined up for this season.

The PPL has invited to the VIP Opening Night of the Beautiful new Lifetime Athletics - Diamond Property - the $30M makeover of what was RCS in Norcross.  Come tour the facility, enjoy complimentary everything, and watch some great men's & women's paddle or even play if you'd like (wear you sneakers)

Paddle Courts Open for Play All Weekend!!!

The Villages, FL adds 6 more Platform Tennis Courts!!!

Joe Russo, chief of all things Platform Tennis related at the Villages (near Orlando) wrote to announce the completion of their next group of six platform tennis courts - for a total of 12 and counting!  The first six were so well received that a next six was an easy call - pickle ball players are trying platform tennis and liking it even more.  They will host an open tournament Dec 14th and 15th 2013 - do come play:  joerusso32@comcast.net

Charleston's Got Paddle!!!

Jerry & Beth Albrikes along with Jim McCready and team from the LTP (Live to Play) club in Charleston, SC held a terrific opening event for their lovely new 2 court venue - the first platform tennis courts in Charleston - made possible in part through a generous grant by the American Platform Tennis Association and it's Members.  The Charleston project continues the phenomenal growth of this great sport in the south.  

Some 60 tennis playing club members of LTP came out for clinics lead by PPTA President Brad Easterbrook, along with Jerry, Anton Mavrin & former APTA President Mark Fischl. The group also played a 2 set exhibition on the recently constructed, grade level courts at LTP set beneath beautiful live oak trees.
